ACTS OF TREASON PART 2

In our current modern society, treason is not a word you hear often, nor is there a true understanding of the word "treason". If you are found guilty of treasonous acts, at the minimum, most countries will sentence you to a very long prison sentence if not the death penalty.

Treason is the offense of acting to overthrow ones's government or to harm or kill its sovereign. A violation of allegiance to one's sovereign (king) or to one's state. The betrayal of a trust or confidence; breach of faith; treachery.

Sedition is conduct or speech inciting people to rebel against the authority of a state or monarch; the fomenting of discontentment towards a ruler/king; being disloyal by subverting the authority that is over you and inciting (encouraging) others to join you in rebellion or disorder.

Satan was the first to commit treason against the King! He rebelled against the sovereign Lord of all. He also incited one third of the angelic host to join him in his rebellion.

To this day, the evil one is plotting and planning the overthrow of God's Kingdom! He many times uses well meaning "church people" to continue his acts of treason. He uses those who operate or live in their flesh (carnal man) instead of a life in Christ. He loves to subvert God and accuse the church. (Isaiah 14: 13-15; 1 Samuel 15:23; Jeremiah 28:16; Ezekiel 28:12-17; Luke 10:18; Luke 11:18; Acts 5:3; Revelation 12:6-10)

The Spirit led life is: "It is no longer I who lives, but Christ who lives in me."(Galatians 2:20) "I am not my own, I have been bought with a price!" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) I am crucified daily, I give up my desires and take on the desires of the King of Glory. (Luke 9:23) I live for the pleasure of my King, Jesus, I hear His voice and a stranger I do not listen to. (John 10)

Are we still the "king" of our own lives? Many times, we allow God only conditional "lordship"; only limited kingship. We sit on the thrones of our lives, and it is difficult to "dethrone" you! Giving up control and giving into accountability and surrender is contrary to our natural man. Often, we will have several ares that we choose not to turn over to God. We refuse to acknowledge and surrender our throne. (No to finances, no on personality, no on my emotional responses, no when I decide)

It takes the supernatural working of the Holy Spirit of God and our free will to give up being the ruler! Thankfully, our Lord Jesus gave himself that we can, through His blood and power, kill our old man, crucify our flesh desires and live in the new man.

Why is it vital for us to understand treasonous acts; acts of rebellion? Over the next several installments of this topic, I pray each of us will search our hearts, motives and old doors we have opened to treason and rebellion. Those acts are open doors in the spirit that must be renounced and closed.

Can we commit treason against God? Do we commit treasonous acts? What is the difference between a sovereign verses a Savior?
